Spine Care

So here’s a painful number: Over 630 million people’s lives are affected by lower back disorders. That number is growing, yet the patients suffering from spine pathologies are receiving inefficient treatment today. Spine care has become fragmented, episodic, and uncoordinated relying on doctors’ individual experiences. There is an urgent need for innovative treatment approaches.

Straight up facts

Spine pathologies are the most disabling health issues worldwide clearly affecting over 630 million people’s quality of life. They will likely impact 3 out of 4 persons in developed countries, a prevalence increasing with an ageing population. As a result, spine-related disorders are not only affecting peoples wellbeing but are also a major economic burden in Europe and beyond, for public health systems. Treatments, pensions and loss in productivity are costing billions in developed countries. The market for minimally invasive surgery and spinal implants is growing 4-5% annually as demand increases.

The plan

We’re building the leading center of excellence in spine care improving the quality of life through patient-centered, comprehensive and innovative treatments. Our clinic will leverage cutting-edge technologies and methodologies to pioneer the new standards in spine care, by applying the highest quality technology and techniques, including robotics, minimally invasive surgery and regenerative therapies. Through research and innovation we will develop regenerative medicine, implants and AI-powered patient orientation and treatment decision tools.

Entrepreneurs

Marisa Gandia Gonzalez, PhD and Co-founder, stands as a distinguished neurosurgeon and prolific researcher, forging an illustrious path across esteemed institutions and groundbreaking investigations. Graduating with a degree in Medicina y Cirugía from Universitat de València in 2005, she embarked on a transformative journey. Her Neurosurgery Residency at Hospital Universitario La Paz, Madrid, Spain, from 2006 to 2011, was a cornerstone in her evolution. A pivotal juncture arrived in 2021, when she achieved an Excellent Cum Laude distinction with her PhD. The focal point of her research delved into advanced methodologies underpinning MR diagnostics.

Results

We have brought together one of the most renowned architecture firm in the world, top medical team, best in class construction expert and will set up a flagship in Madrid.
