Here’s how

To speed up the process, we begin by producing T lymphocyte progenitors called ProTcell. We then cultivate these cells, a sub-type of white blood cells, in vitro, and accelerate their growth using a patented technology. “We’ve found a way to mimic the living and produce them from donated stem cells. With our ProTcell, we can do in seven days what bone marrow does in 15 months.”
Injected and allowed to migrate into the thymus, an organ located above the heart which serves as a “training camp” for the immune system, these progenitors become operational lymphocytes in just over three months.

Smart Immune was co-founded by three colleagues and friends Dr. Isabelle André and Professor Marina Cavazzana (a pediatric immunologist and 2012 Woman Scientist of the Year) and Karine Rossignol at the Imagine Institute in Paris. Marina and Isabelle suggested Karine sets up Smart Immune, in 2017 based on twenty years of their work on the technology. Karine Rossignol, Pharmacy Doctor and HEC graduate, Before co-founding Smart Immune, was the CEO of the French Foundation for Hearing for 3 years and the co-secretary general of the Imagine Institute of Genetic Diseases for 10 years, where she structured, developed, and ensured fundraising for the institute. also had cancer at the age of 42, and the chemo was a bit of a blow,” she reveals.
